Finding happiness in creating community

Yay, I have started reading again. My girls are finally getting slightly more relaxed and settled so I can steal some time here and there to sit and relax with a great book. My recent book was The Little Book of Lykke by Meik Weiking.

I am great fan of mindfulness and hygge so was interested in research what makes people happy. Togetherness, trust and kindness all sparked my imagination, especially creating community. You see, for a long time I am playing with the idea of creating community for another creative souls to work together on regular or one-off basis. Isolation is huge problem for creatives and sharing ideas and motivate each other is great way to improve working ethics and business. Or just instead of working in coffee it would be nice to share now and then space with people of similar interests. The places like that already exist, the only problem, I can’t find any close enough.

Wouldn’t it be great to have your own desk among other designers/crafters? What about if the customers could purchase your products and see where the magic happens? Wouldn’t it be nice to sometimes talk to customers and find exactly what they are after? Would you like to take part in community art and craft fair?

Let’s take it with small steps. I have created Facebook page Kent Art and Craft Community to bring together creatives in North Kent (mainly Dartford area) and meet up now and then. And see what happens…
