Embrace Slow Living in Speeding Times

Do you feel like the time is just flying? Are you wondering where did the Christmas holidays go?

So far this year feels a bit different and I am getting similar vibes from my friends on Linkedin and Substack. There is upheavel against setting too many goals and going in the new year with lightening speed. Instead there is lots of advice out there for taking it easy, setting intentions and slowing down. To observe and follow nature, resting and recovering energy, preparing for spring and new life.

I have been thinking about setting intentions for this year. If I was about to choose the one that most resonates with me, it would be supporting others while nourishing my mind and body.

We are sometimes pressured to do things that might sound as a good idea at first but do not work fully for us. The things/activities that feel like “should”.

It might not be of any benefit to you to do things that you do not enjoy or see any benefits from. If you find meditation difficult, but think that it could really help you, start with only a 3 minute one or swap it for another mindful activity, like a mindful walk. If you find journalling 3 pages each morning difficult, journal only one sentence a day or not even every day.

We are all different, live in different environments and have different experiences. The best way is to experiment, try new things and tailor them to your needs.
